Badly waxed skis drag. Blunt edges let you down on every turn. In our workshop your kit gets the tune that turns a decent ski day into a great one – whether you rent from us or bring your own.
Both bring back your edges and glide. The difference lies underneath – in the base.

Five euros’ difference, three extra steps. If your base is scratched or your skis stall on the flats, a stone grind does more than any layer of wax. With a fresh base, “Edges & wax” is plenty – and if edges and base are still fine, a wax on its own will do.

Edges still sharp, base free of scratches – but your skis won’t glide on the flats and stick in wet snow? Then they don’t need a tune, they need wax. Hot wax worked into the base, brushed and polished: the same job as in the full service, just without the grinding.
The best part: you can wait for it. In the morning just before the first lift, or at lunchtime when fresh snow has fallen and your skis start to stick. Overnight works too, of course.
Adjustment and release values to ISO 11088 – set for your weight, height, ability and boot sole length. This isn’t about comfort: it’s the difference between a fall and a torn cruciate ligament. Recommended once a season and always after new boots.
Hit a rock, ripped base, broken edge: these aren’t off-the-shelf jobs. We look at the damage, tell you honestly whether a repair is worth it, and give you the price before we start.
One stone in spring snow is enough. What’s left is a gouge in the base – it slows you down, soaks up water and gets bigger every day.
New bindings on your skis, a different set-up on your board, a model swap after testing: drilling, fitting, adjusting and checking the release values to ISO.
The base is coming away from the core at the tail, or a piece of edge has broken off. In many cases two-part epoxy fixes it for good.
Four things almost everyone has experienced on the slopes – and what the workshop can do about them.
In the morning shade the piste turns icy, and suddenly your skis won’t hold where you put them. It’s usually not your skiing – it’s an edge that has gone round.
→ Side and base edge tuningThe base has dried out and sticks to the snow. A quick rub-on wax helps for a few hours – wax that’s properly worked in lasts all week.
→ Hot wax or infrared waxingScratches and an uneven base drag unevenly – the ski feels nervous and wants to leave the turn. A base grind and structure bring back the smooth ride it had from the factory.
→ Base grind & stone grindSprings wear, settings drift, and with new boots the sole length won’t match anyway. The check takes a few minutes and is recorded.
→ Binding check to ISO 11088No appointment needed: bring your kit in, and we’ll have it back in shape overnight.
