Your skis are ten years old. What can new ones do?
Ride a Redster in the morning and another carver in the afternoon. After a few turns you know which one carries you.
Rent the skis, boots or board you’re curious about. Take them out on the slopes and swap until they’re right. If you buy, we deduct the rental fee for your test days from the purchase price.

In the shop the boot fits like a glove. Two hours on the slopes and it starts to pinch.
Whether a boot fits or a ski suits you, you don’t find out on the shelf but in the turn. That’s why you test with us where it counts – and only buy once you’re sure.
Tell us how you ski and what you’re after. If you’re already thinking about buying or have a budget in mind, say so when you rent. Then we pick the right kit from the rack from the start.
One day or a few more. You pay the normal rental price – nothing extra for testing.
Not right after two runs? Swap it – even in the middle of the day. Within your category, as often as you like.

Bring it backThen it was simply a good day on the slopes.
Skis in every class, including Freestyle & Freeski, plus ski boots and snowboards. You’ll find the prices on the rental page – here it’s about what suits you.

Ride a Redster in the morning and another carver in the afternoon. After a few turns you know which one carries you.

You get to know a ski boot on the slopes. Wear it for a day. If it pinches, swap it for the next one.

No sitting down in the snow, no fiddling with bindings. Test a Burton Step On® set with board, bindings and boots.

Open the SessionThe pioneer of the ski film – and his line about freedom.

A day at the trade fair.

Boxes, bindings, stickers: what happens before your skis are in the rack.
More Sessions are coming over the winter.
What you want to know before your first test day – answered briefly.
Just the normal rental price for the days you ski. There’s no extra charge for testing, except for brand-new ski boots straight from the box.
You’ll find our rental prices on the “Prices & offers” page.
The rental fee for up to 6 test days. If you ride three different pairs of skis on those days and then buy one of them, all the test days count – even if you only skied the ones you buy on two of them.
We deduct the rental fee for what you buy. If you rent skis, boots and a helmet and buy the boots, we deduct the rental fee for the boots.
No. Test days and purchase just need to fall in the same season. You could test for three days in January and carry on in February, for example. Just tell us at the counter that you want to continue your test later.
You buy new off the shelf or broken-in, well-kept kit from our rental fleet.
Yes. If you don’t buy it afterwards, a test fee is added to the rental fee: €30 for Comfort ski boots and Step On® boots, €50 for Performance ski boots.
If we have the boot in your size in the rental fleet, you test that one at the normal rental price and can still buy a new one from the box afterwards.
You can get new boots straight from the box at Valley stations #1 and #2. At the Mountain station only if you let us know in advance.
No need. If you only realise on the slopes that you want to keep a pair of skis, we still deduct the fee.
But if you already have something in mind, tell us when you rent. Then you test models that also suit you as a purchase from the start – and don’t have to rethink everything on the last day.
A lot. Tell us what you’d like to spend. We’ll show you what you can ride and test for that – matched to the way you ski and as close to your wishes as possible. That way you don’t spend days testing skis that won’t fit your budget in the end.
All three, on the same terms. You can test Burton Step On® sets at Valley station #1 – Gondola.
No. If you bring it back, you simply rented as usual and had a good day on the slopes.
No, Test & Buy applies to skis, ski boots and snowboards. You can try on helmets, goggles and back protectors at your leisure in the shop – we’ll advise you there just the same.
For more than ten winters a red ski has been part of the family. In the rental, in the shop, on the feet of our regulars.
Every winter Atomic has kept refining it, model by model, season by season. The red has stayed.
Some people don’t even ask for a model on the first morning any more – they ask for the colour. And every year someone picks one up for the first time, makes the first turn and understands why.

Precision.
You put it on its edge, and it stays there. The turn does the rest.

Power.

Speed.
It gets faster on its own. All you have to do is let go.

Scroll slowly. The turn moves with you.

Old racing footage, a look, a word. A short film by Atomic, with sound.
Silver
All three new for the 2026/27 season.
Gold
All new since the 2025/26 season, except the Q9.

You don’t have to. We deduct the rental fee for your test days from the purchase price.
How Test & Buy works ↑In 1946 a young Californian rolls into Sun Valley towing a tiny trailer behind his old Buick. He sleeps in the car park, skis as often as he can – and films.
Four years later Warren Miller shows his first ski film. After that, a new one arrives every autumn for more than five decades. He travels from town to town, stands in front of the screen and narrates it himself, with wit and without fuss.
For generations of skiers, winter didn’t start with the first snow but with the new Warren Miller film.
“A pair of skis are the ultimate transportation to freedom.”
Patrick Creadon’s documentary tells Warren Miller’s life from the car park in Sun Valley to his last interview, shortly before his death aged 93.

Warren Miller Entertainment keeps filming: the trailer for “All Time” (2023) shows why we’ve been watching ski films for decades – and want to head straight up the mountain afterwards.

How Test & Buy works ↑While you’re enjoying the slopes with us in January, our minds are already on winter 2027/28. At the trade fair in Bolzano we get our hands on the new products, test them on the snow and decide what goes into our rental next winter.
January 2026We order new kit almost a year in advance. Here’s how it works with us.
Whole walls of skis that aren’t in the shops yet. We pick them up, compare construction and weight and ask the makers what has really changed since last year.

January 2026With ski boots, looks aren’t what matters most to us: how do they feel, how quickly do you get in, and will they last many seasons in the rental? With helmets and goggles we look at what’s new and what goes together.

January 2026On the second and third day of the fair, everyone heads out to the Prà di Tori slope in Carezza. More than 250 trade visitors test next winter’s skis there. This is where you notice what nobody sees in the hall: how a ski grips, how it turns and whether it’s fun.

How Test & Buy works ↑Before you pick up your skis in December, they’ve been through many hands. A look into our rental in November – between mountains of boxes, bindings and labels.
The photos are from the last two winters. The pallets for 2026/27 are rolling in right now – and it looks just the same.
November 2025In November almost everything arrives at once: pallets full of skis, ski boots, helmets and snowboards, shrink-wrapped in film. And that’s only part of it – at Valley station #2 at Haus Ahris there was roughly as much again, mostly ski boots.
November 2025
November 2025Every pallet is checked against the delivery note, line by line, size by size. If something’s missing, the search begins: is there a follow-up delivery? Is a parcel still on the driver’s lorry? And sometimes it’s not the goods that are missing but the delivery note.
November 2025
November 2025Most skis arrive without bindings. They come in boxes alongside and we mount them ourselves, pair by pair. It’s the same with snowboards: 40 new boards are no use if the bindings are still on their way. Only when both are here can they go out on rental.
November 2025
November 2024
December 2024Every item in the rental gets its own number and barcode – so for every ski, every boot and every helmet we know where it is right now. Then comes our sticker. The new stock in the shop needs price labels, piece by piece.
November 2025
December 2025
November 2025Just as we wanted to print the labels for all the new shop stock, the red light came on. No amount of coaxing helped. A new printer arrived by courier.
Then comes the sorting: by maker, model, colour and length. Kids’ skis in rows, helmets box by box. Sounds fussy, but it saves loads of time in December, when you’re standing in front of us and we need the right length quickly.
November 2024
November 2024
November 2024Whatever is needed straight away goes into the rental. The rest goes down to the basement: stock for the shop and supplies for later in the season, when a size starts running low in the rental. And then it’s your turn.
November 2024Everything that arrives in November is in the rental in December: every class from Bronze to Platinum, plus Freestyle & Freeski and Burton Step On® sets.
